Fun Report: Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley
Nintendo is a scam
Everything costs way too much.
Becomes obsolete too soon.
You don’t own the literal hardware you buy from them.
Everything is an upcharge.
Price-quality ratio is ass.
Borrowed a game from the library
I have a Nintendo Switch Lite. It’s one of those things that sits in the back of my closet and mind, collecting dust and financial guilt.
I thought about getting Picofly installed, to buy some freedom with this thing, but investing an additional 90€ feels stupid at this point.
So I decided to borrow some Switch games from the public library.
Try to get some value out of the thing…
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley
This game is fun, beautiful, cute, peaceful, green, and took me about 3 hours to 100%.
Game philosophies I agree with:
- Parks are bad, wilderness is good
- Rules are bad
- Cops are bad
- Eco-terrorism is how you beat the game (destroy a dam)
- Vandalize parks - return them to nature
- Teamwork makes the dream work
- Signs are to be destroyed
- No touching your surroundings
- No camping
- No music
- No pipe smoking
- No campfires
- No looking/viewing
- No boots
- Theater is more powerful than just as entertainment
Fun Report
It was really fun and relaxing to play, but I’m glad I didn’t spend money on it, since it only lasted a few hours.
Lesson learned: borrowing games from the library is the only way to get return on investment for the Switch.
